Memory Quilts — What You Need to Know

All Quilts

All quilts are thoughtfully constructed with three layers: a top made from your provided clothing, a middle batting layer for softness and thickness (polyester blend), and a backing fabric for added comfort. All quilts include trim finishing for a polished look.

For baby quilts, the backing is a soft, plush minky dot fabric. For adult quilts, the backing is fleece, and you can choose your preferred fleece color.

Custom embroidery can be added to any quilt to personalize it even further.

Adult T-Shirt Quilts

Adult quilts come in three sizes:

  • Small: 4’ x 5’ with 20 squares

  • Medium: 4’ x 6’ with 24 squares

  • Large: 5’ x 6’ with 30 squares

Each square measures 12” x 12”.

You have the option of a double-sided quilt, where both sides are lined with clothes you provide, or a single-sided quilt, with one side made of your clothing and the other side fleece fabric.

Squares can be cut from the front, back, or both sides of each shirt—whichever you want visible. Each side of a shirt makes one square, so, for example, if you choose a small quilt with 20 squares and want to use both sides of each shirt, you’ll need to send 10 shirts, but, if you only want one side used , you’ll need 20 shirts.

Baby Quilts

Baby quilts come in three sizes:

  • Small: 30” x 30” with 25 squares

  • Medium: 42” x 42” with 49 squares

  • Large: 48” x 48” with 64 squares

Each square measures 6” x 6”.

To create your quilt, please send the same number of clothing items as the number of squares in your chosen quilt size (for example, a small quilt with 25 squares requires 25 pieces of clothing).

Acceptable clothing items include onesies, sleepers, blankets, t-shirts, and sweaters sized 3 months or larger.
